High Pure Molybdenum Dioxide MoO2 Appearance: Dark brown, no impurity that naked eye can see.Purity: It is more than 99.9%.Main Application:Molybdenum dioxide is mainly used for producing molybdenum powder, chemical industry, industry additive etc.Molybdenum dioxide is the chemical compound with the formula MoO2. It is a violet-colored solid and is a metallic conductor. It crystallizes in a monoclinic cell, and has a distorted rutile, (TiO2) crystal structure. In TiO2 the oxide anions are close packed and titanium atoms occupy half of the octahedral interstices (holes). In MoO2 the octahedra are distorted, the Mo atoms are off-centre, leading to alternating short and long Mo – Mo distances and Mo-Mo bonding. The short Mo – Mo distance is 251 pm which is less than the Mo – Mo distance in the metal, 272.5 pm. The bond length is shorter than would be expected for a single bond. The bonding is complex and involves a delocalisation of some of the Mo electrons in a conductance band accounting for the metallic conductivity.[

Sodium molybdate was first synthesized by the method of hydration.A more convenient synthesis is done by dissolving MoO3 in sodium hydroxide at 50–70 °C and crystallizing the filtered product.The anhydrous salt is prepared by heating to 100 °C.It is used in industry for corrosion inhibition, as it is a non-oxidizing anodic inhibitor. The addition of sodium molybdate significantly reduces the nitrite requirement of fluids inhibited with nitrite-amine, and improves the corrosion protection of carboxylate salt fluids. Sodium molybdate is often found as the dihydrate. Sodium molybdate dihydrate is a useful source of molybdate, a Molybdenum compound. The compound has displayed the ability to stabilize both the androgen and progesterone receptor. When applied to non-activated estrogen receptors the Sodium Molybdate reversibly inhibited receptor activation. In the Rat Sodium molybdate dihydrate inactivated both the active and inactive form of the gluco corticoid receptor complex. With the use of nitrites, molybdate salts have been shown to reduce the emission of hydrogen sulphide from swine manure.
